Do you ever struggle to keep your heels down? If so then there could be a number of reasons behind why. Quite often I see people straighten their legs out trying to achieve heels down. This will not be something that you can hold as you leg will naturally find its balance point back underneath you and hence your heels will be back up. If you find that you can't push enough pressure in to your stirrups to gain heels down then your irons are probably a bit too long for you. Pop them up a hole and see if that makes it any easier. And if it is just due to lack of muscle control then you can practise walking around on just your heels with your toes lifted up off the ground. This will help strengthen the muscles and also help your body find the balance point of weight down through your heels. Happy Riding!!!!!!!
