It’s that time of year again when our babies are growing their wooly warm winter coats. This new hair growth obviously takes a fair bit of protein to make and if your horses diet does not have enough protein to support the new hair growth you may find they may lose a little bit of condition in this period. It is a good idea when you start to see them shedding their coats to increase their protein levels a little bit. Sources of good protein can be found in Copra Meal, Soya bean Meal, and Lupins. If you need help balancing your horses diet out please send me a message as I am more than happy to help assist you in this process.
