Friday Feeding Tips

Electrolytes are an important aspect of feeding horses if you have performance horses that are sweating on a regular basis due to exercise.

When a horse sweats they lose a lot of important salts that are a necessity for the body to function normally. Most feeds do not have the right balance or not enough of these elements to replace what the horse is loosing on a daily basis.

A good electrolyte supplement will help ensure that your horse stays healthy and that their body is able to function correctly at all times. There are many different types of electrolytes on the market and it can be a bit overwhelming to choose one. I use a liquid electrolyte so that way I can either add it to their feeds or I can administer it orally if required. Just try to choose one that is easiest for both you and your horse and also cost effective too.
